Due to events of the last 2 years, and the unprecedented
terrorist attack on America Israel, and other countries, we’ve put together
this little message to bring HOPE. We use the acronym REFUGE to speak to
this need from God’s word.
Rise
Isaiah 60:1 "Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the
LORD has risen upon you.
Isaiah 60:1 (AMP) Arise [from the depression and prostration in which
circumstances have kept you: rise to a new life]! Shine – be radiant with
the glory of the Lord: for your light is come, and the glory of the LORD is
risen upon you. {Zech 8:23 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, 'In those days ten
men from all the nations will grasp the garment of a Jew saying, "Let us go
with you, for we have heard that God is with you."}
Equip (You)
and Encourage (Others)
Luke 4:19 (MSG)
“God’s Spirit is on me; he’s chosen me to preach the Message of good news to
the poor, Sent me to announce pardon to prisoners and recovery of sight to
the blind, To set the burdened and battered free, to announce, ‘This is
God’s year to act!’”
Isaiah 61:1a (AMP) The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the
LORD has anointed and qualified me to preach the gospel of good tidings to
the meek, the poor and the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives,
And the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound; [Rom
10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How
beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring
glad tidings of good things!]
Anointed: God’s hand is
upon us, empowering us to do this work
Qualified: Holy Spirit
is the teacher, giving us the necessary words to speak
Mark 13:11
But when you are arrested and stand trial, don't worry about what to say in
your defense. Just say what God tells you to. Then you will not be speaking,
but the Holy Spirit will.
Preach: Mark 16:15 TLB And then Yeshua told them, "You are to go
into all the world
and preach the Good News to everyone, everywhere.
To the meek, poor, and
afflicted:
Isaiah 40:1
Comfort, comfort ye my people, says your God. 2 Speak ye comfortably to
Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her
iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for
all her sins.. 3 A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way for
the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.
Freedom
Isaiah 61:1c (AMP) The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, Because the
LORD has anointed and qualified me to preach the gospel of good tidings to
the meek, the poor and the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the
brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the [physical and spiritual] captives,
And the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound;
John 8:31 To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, "If you
hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32 Then you will know the
truth, and the truth will set you free."
John 8:36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
Unlocking
Isaiah 61:1d AMP And the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those
who are bound;
Acts 16:25 But about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and
singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them; 26
and suddenly there came a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the
prison house were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and
everyone's chains were unfastened. 27 And when the jailer had been roused
out of sleep and had seen the prison doors opened, he drew his sword and was
about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. 28 But Paul
cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Do yourself no harm, for we are all
here!" 29 And he called for lights and rushed in and, trembling with fear,
he fell down before Paul and Silas, 30 and after he brought them out, he
said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 And they said, "Believe in the
Lord Jesus, and you shall be saved, you and your household."
Isaiah 42:6 "I am the LORD, I have called you in righteousness, I
will also hold you by the hand and watch over you, And I will appoint you as
a covenant to the people, As a light to the nations, 7 To open blind eyes,
To bring out prisoners from the dungeon, And those who dwell in darkness
from the prison.
2 Kings 6:16 "Don't be afraid," the prophet answered. "Those who
are with us are more than those who are with them." 17 And Elisha prayed, "O
LORD, open his eyes so he may see." Then the LORD opened the servant's eyes,
and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all
around Elisha.
God’s Time
Isaiah 61:2 AMP To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD – the year
for His favor - And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who
mourn: [Matt 11:2-6; Luke 4:18-19; 7:22]
Matthew 11:4 Jesus replied, "Go back and report to John what you
hear and see: 5 The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have
leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is
preached to the poor. 6 Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account
of me."

Psalm 1:1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel
of the wicked, Nor stand in the path of sinners, Nor sit in the seat of
scoffers! 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he
meditates day and night. 3 And he will be like a tree firmly planted by
streams of water, Which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does
not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. |
